Spanish cellist Jorge Municio Corcho began his musical studies at the age of six with Carmen Agúndez, at the Conservatory Hermanos Berzosa in Cáceres. After twelve years, he graduated with special honors, and pursued higher education in Porto with Professor Jed Barahal, gaining valuable experience performing with various orchestras and ensembles such as the Youth Orchestra of Extramadura, Neue Philharmonie München, or Casa da Música Symphony Orchestra.
In 2018, Jorge Municio Corcho got accepted into the master’s program at Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam, where he studied with Professor Jeroen den Herder. During his time at Codarts, he also took lessons with distinguished cellists Herre Jan Stegenga and Job ter Haar, deepening his expertise in historically informed performance practices. His master’s studies provided him with opportunities to perform at several prestigious events and festivals, including the Zutphen Cello Festival, PRISMA Festival, and PortoCello Festival.
Jorge Municio Corcho continues to build a versatile career, between folk-inspired and historically informed performance, as with Duo Lusitano or Tacora ensembles.
