William Shelton

Biography

A renowned interpreter of Bach, Franco-British countertenor William Shelton is collaborating this season with prestigious ensembles such as Il Gardellino, Gli Angeli, and Vox Luminis. On the operatic stage, he makes his debut at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse and performs the role of Nireno in Handel’s Giulio Cesare. A laureate of several international competitions, including the Cesti Competition in Innsbruck and the World Bach Competition, he was an artist-in-residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. A passionate chamber musician, he performs regularly in recitals, exploring a wide range of repertoire from Baroque music to contemporary premieres.
