Biography
Armenian soprano Elvira Margarian trained at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow and the Yerevan State Conservatory (Komitas), and joined the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow through the Erasmus+ programme. From 2019 to 2021 she was a soloist at the Speransky Opera Studio in Moscow, singing Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro); at the Yerevan Opera Studio her roles included Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Adina (L'elisir d'amore). In 2024 she performed Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem at the University Church of Oxford. Recent and upcoming roles include Adele (Die Fledermaus), Pamina and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Gianetta (L'elisir d'amore) and the second niece in Peter Grimes.
