The two previous editions of Prangins Baroque were miracles in many respects. Although the festival took place each time in the midst of a health crisis and with all the hazards that entails, the entire program could be realised. Artists from all over the world were welcomed to Prangins and high quality artistic work was presented, crowned by a series of free concerts and shows, that were all sold out.
Buoyed by this success, Prangins Baroque is now turning enthusiastically to its third edition, placed under the sign of Italy: the instrumental and vocal music of Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti, Arcangelo Corelli, Agostino Steffani and Antonio Vivaldi will be a rich source of inspiration for both the artists and the public.
The artistic team will once again bring together outstanding international artists, including the marvelous violinist Emmanuel Resche-Caserta, concertmaster of Les Arts Florissants. Pierre-François Dollé and Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière, two of the greatest specialists in Baroque dance will also be there. This year we will also have the great pleasure of welcoming for the first time one of the most remarkable harpsichordists of his generation, Jory Vinikour. He has an extremely varied career, not only as a soloist, continuo player and accompanist of world-renowned singers, but also as a musical director and conductor.
In the form of ateliers, this team will train the selected young talents in a warm, supportive and stimulating environment, and will prepare them for concerts. Three public concerts will crown an intensive week of artistic work. The concerts will take place in magnificent venues such as the courtyard of the Château de Prangins and the Temple de Prangins.
For this third edition, the objectives of Prangins Baroque remain the same: to allow artistic exchange between exceptional young talents and world-renowned musicians; make rehearsal work, which often takes place behind closed doors, accessible to the public; offer all concerts and other formats free of charge. In this way, everyone can follow the creative process and Baroque art is made accessible to a wide audience of all ages, to amateurs and the curious alike. The active participation of the community of Prangins also remains the foundation of the festival: it is present at all stages of the project, from conception to the reception of the artists in their families through management and communication. It is thanks to this enthusiastic commitment of the Pranginois and the generous support of the Commune de Prangins and its Municipality that Prangins Baroque is once again is an unforgettable cultural and social experience for all.
Fortunately, our partners are more and more numerous and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart for their generous and varied support.
My last words of thanks go to the wonderful organizing team and all the members of the Association Prangins Baroque who, thanks to their tireless work and their passion for music, will make it possible to achieve another miracle this year.< /p>
