Stéphanie Brochard is a dancer/performer and choreographer who likes to move from one universe to another: contemporary dance, dance theatre, baroque dance and clowning.

In 2008, she joined the dance company Sursaut in Canada as a performer. She participates in all the company’s productions and has been assistant artistic director since 2011.

In 2015, she created her first contemporary choreographic work entitled Moi2 and in 2017 completed the creation of Compromis Improbable. This solo, which she choreographed and performed, was born out of a desire to create a new choreographic vocabulary fusing baroque and contemporary dance. It also marks a turning point in her choreographic development, which from then on will develop this vocabulary in each of her creative works.

The dialogue between music and dance is also at the heart of her creative research. She collaborates with musicians on different shows, in which she tries to put into perspective the relationship between music and dance, but also the place of music through the physical presence of the musicians in the stage space.

Stéphanie Brochard is a performer for Les Jardins Chorégraphiques, a baroque dance company based in Montreal, and has been the co-artistic director since 2018. In 2019 and 2023, she is a guest artist at the Boston Early Music Festival.

Stéphanie Brochard's appearances during the Prangins Baroque Festival include:
Les Jardins d'Illusions (2023)
