After studying literature and working in an amateur theatre company, Julie Scobeltzine began studying stage design at the Saint Petersburg Theatre Institute and continued her studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, under the direction of Guy-Claude François.

After graduating in 2000, she designed the costumes for Jean-Marie Lecoq’s musicals Beauty and the Beast and Robin Hood, and Charlélie Couture’s Alice in Wonderland. In the theatre, she has collaborated with Georges Aperghis, Édith Scob and Lukas Hemleb, with whom she has worked on numerous productions, notably Titus Andronicus by W. Shakespeare. It was with this director that she made her first opera creations.

In the field of opera, she regularly collaborates with Emmanuelle Cordoliani, José Montalvo and Dominique Hervieu. Her various collaborations have led her to work in France and throughout Europe.

For several years now, Julie Scobeltzine has been working in the theatre with Julie Deliquet, for whom she designed the costumes for Vanya after Chekhov and Fanny and Alexander after Bergman at the Comédie Française.
