Jory Vinikour is now recognized as one of the most outstanding harpsichordists of his generation. Born in Chicago, he studied in Paris with Huguette Dreyfus and Kenneth Gilbert. Winning First Prizes at the 1993-94 Warsaw International Harpsichord Competition and the Prague Spring Festival launched him into the limelight. Since then he has appeared in the musical programs of prestigious festivals such as Besançon, Deauville and Monaco.

As a concerto soloist, he has performed with orchestras such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Flanders Opera Orchestra and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande under conductors such as Marek Janowski, Armin Jordan and Fabio Luisi.

A renowned accompanist, he has often performed in recital with artists such as David Daniels, Annick Massis, Marijana Mijanović. He has also accompanied the Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne-Sofie von Otter in various recitals. He is a regular performer at the Paris Opera as harpsichordist and continuo player, as well as at the Netherlands Opera and the Salzburg Festival, among others.

Jory Vinikour is a complete musician, as his reputation as a conductor and music director is now established. His recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations for Delos International in 2001 was greeted by rave reviews around the world.
