Constanza Meza-Lopehandia is a Chilean costume designer for stage and film based in Vienna, Austria. She graduated in 2002 from the Universidad de Chile with a degree in Theatre Design. She went on to earn a Master’s degree in Costume Design at New York University’s Tisch School for the Arts in 2012.

Constanza Meza-Lopehandia approaches costume design as an opportunity to tell a story through the power of color, texture and silhouette. She enjoys engaging collaborations and active dialogues in the process of creating ideas and images for the stage.

Recently, she designed the costumes for Don Carlos at Kammeroper Wien (2018), Le Nozze di Figaro at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna (2019) and Persinette at the Vienna State Opera (2019). Her creations have received excellent reviews.

Currently, she is designing the costumes for three plays that are part of the Komödienspiele Porcia 2021, a festival of theatrical comedy that takes place every summer in Carinthia, Austria.
