Dušan Toroman
Clavecin
Dušan Toroman holds a degree in piano performance from his native Serbia. An interest in historical keyboard instruments brought him to Italy, where he studied fortepiano with Stefano Fiuzzi at the Piano Academy of Imola and harpsichord with Maria Luisa Baldassari at the Gioacchino Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro.
For many years he has benefited from the advice of the musicologist and harpsichordist Emilia Fadini while attending masterclasses with musicians such as Malcolm Bilson, Enrico Baiano, Ottavio Dantone, Sergio Ciomei or Jory Vinikour.
Winner of the Broadwood Horniman Harpsichord Competition in London, the Tournoi International de Musique de Paris and the Concorso Internazionale Wanda Landowska in Italy, he maintains a rich concert activity that has taken him to France, England and Italy, among others.
Due to his long-standing interest in vocal music, he has worked extensively as an accompanist and currently holds a position at the Department of Singing at the Faculty of Arts in Kragujevac, Serbia.
Dušan Toroman has also worked for the Belgrade Baroque Academy, the Austrian Baroque Academy and the Baroque Atelier directed by contralto Marijana Mijanović.
